Major Editorial Shake-up at 'L.A. Times'

I love the two-way street. Can't wait to see how this plays out vis-a-vis citizen journalism.

Though "From now on, the paper will allow editorial writers to pen signed pieces (once a year) that go against the paper's editorial position. " does give me pause. Once a year? Seems quite limiting. What if something comes up next month? Would I spend the year waiting and hoarding my "turn"? Definitely won't want to spend the budget in January!
