This was my view as I ate lunch on sunny days last week--definitely on the top ten list about MPOW.

Beautiful picture. That tree reminds me of something out of Tolkien, the White Tree of Gondor maybe. Thanks for stopping by my blog today, by the way. I hope you come back.

Why thank you--you should see the paulownias (paulowni?) in winter--then they always make me think of that tree in War and Peace. " At the edge of the road stood an oak. Probably ten times the age of the birches that formed the forest, it was ten times as thick and twice as tall as they. It was an enormous tree, its girth twice as great as a man could embrace, and evidently long ago some of its branches had been broken off and its bark scarred. With its huge ungainly limbs sprawling unsymmetrically, and its gnarled hands and fingers, it stood an aged, stern, and scornful monster among the smiling birch trees. Only the dead-looking evergreen firs dotted about in the forest, and this oak, refused to yield to the charm of spring or notice either the spring or the sunshine." I guess it's the gnarled hands part, though the paulownias look more like gnarled arms, and their blossoms and leaves are much later in the spring than the promiscuous cherry trees and magnolii. In any case, I enjoy your blog, and shall return!
